От 10 до 12 април 2025 г. в читалище „Братство 1869” се проведе двадесет и осмото издание на Международния конкурс за класическа китара – Кюстендил. Конкурсът се организира от Община Кюстендил и читалище „Братство 1869”, със съдействието на читалище „Пробуда 1961”. Тазгодишното издание се реализира с финансовата подкрепа на Национален фонд „Култура“.
Голямата награда на конкурса – Национална награда „Петко Генков“ тази година завоюва Ема Тороманян, възпитаник на НУМСИ ”Проф. Панчо Владигеров“ гр. Бургас с преподавател Симона Маринова. Наградата е в размер на 1000 лв. и се връчва от семейството на китариста Петко Генков в негова памет. Освен тази награда тя получи и картина от кюстендилския художник Георги Андонов, както и статуетка „Любен Хараламбиев“.

The Bratstvo 1869 Community Center Kyustendil announces the Program of the XXVIII International Classical Guitar Competition, which will be held in the period 10-12 April 2025. As every year, the participants, divided into different groups and categories, will be evaluated by some of the best specialists in the field of guitar art from Bulgaria, Denmark, Italy, Serbia, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Kosovo, etc.
The participants in the competition will also have the opportunity to participate in master classes by guitarists Finn Svit from Denmark, Nino D'Amico - Italy, Darko Bageski - North Macedonia, Viktor Ilić and Aleksandar Hadji-Djordžević from Serbia, Ognyan Valev from Bulgaria.

The family of the famous Bulgarian guitarist Petko Genkov, together with the management of the Bratstvo 1869 Community center and the International Classical Guitar Competition - Kyustendil, are establishing in his memory a National Award for Guitar Art "PETKO GENKOV" - a diploma and a cash prize of 500 euro. It will be awarded annually to the winner of the Grand Prize of the competition. In the coming months, the organizing committee will submit a proposal to the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria for the award to be included in the register of National Art Awards.
